Friends and Friendship

When a person is born ,he arrives with a lot of relationships already made. But friendship is a bond which he has the privilege to forge.Right from the time he grows older, goes to school then college, during the job he continuously makes new friends. But as he goes on making new friends ,save one or two his contacts start breaking with the older friends. With the friends he used to hang out whole day and night, now you even start forgetting them.
I was pondering over this phenomenon the day when one of my friends was switching over to some
other place. The ideas that I have mentioned above were going in my mind and I was thinking why this
thing occurs.Probably I am becoming selfish in my attitude.I tried to give a reason for this which says
every person has some emotional needs(The term may make friendship sound like a business),which
gets fulfilled by different persons at different time. The more closer a friend is to you, the more he
satisfies your need. When you move to a new surrounding ,you make some new contacts. Now your
same needs are satisfied by a different person. This way your older contacts start breaking and you
forge new bonds. But even if I forget them at times,I feel gratitude to my friends that they were there when I needed them.

One of my favourite bloggers GreatBong has this interesting take on Aishwarya-Abhishek saga.
Its quite amazing and the use of typical GreatBongian phrases ( Like Rarely since Rama vanquished Ravana has there been such celebration in the world of monkeys , Bangladesh’s biggest anti-vampire rocker and many more ) make it a treat to read.
Hats off ! GreatBong....

Those who remember the Aziz Mirza directed SRK starrer might also remember Paresh Rawal's hanging scene at the end which was quite sarcastic in itself.
The whole thing revisited my mind when I saw news channels depicting Saddam
Hussein's hanging going on.Every channel is quoting," Do not go away.We have some
special pictures for you." as if they have found the El-dorado.
I neither know what kind of Journalism is this nor I want to know.Just to gain some TRP's,To get some advertisement revenues they are showing how a person is going
to die.For me this commercialization of death is totally inhuman and pathetic.

Binary Files

Have you ever thought why we see those strange looking characters(Special Characters) when we open a binary file or a executable file in a text editor?
This is the way of the text editor to tell the user ,"Stupid, you are trying to view a file which you even cannot read."Since the editor does not want to tell this explicitly it uses the special characters to convey the info like the way we use *#%$ to convey some special adjectives.

Why not acknowledge?

With respect to an earlier post by Amit Verma where he mentions that two of songs created by Shantanu Moitra ("Pal-Pal from Lage Raho Munnabhai" and "Kaisi Paheli Zindgani from Parineeta") are directly lifted.
Similarly the blockbuster song "Bheegi-Bheegi from Gangster" by music director Pritam is a direct lift from Bengali rock band Moheener Ghoraguli's song "Prithibi Ta Naki".
The point is when you are lifting songs or infact directly copying any art why not acknowledge it while releasing your creation? That way at least there will not be a shadow of doubt on your other works.

A tough choice to make...

Today is a holiday in my office.Still I am there .I in fact like the fact that there is almost absolute silence(Being a engineering student I am little bit afraid to use the word absolute with the ac creating some noise or the odd vehicle honking outside the building but in the end it is more or less silent).I can work the way I want without someone interrupting me. I can talk loudly to myself,I can sing loudly and In the end it helps me concentrating better in my work. But nothing comes for free.
So,if I want to work the way I like ,I will have to come on holidays,on weekends ,and on weekdays I have to sit late in the night. Now that's a tough choice to make.........
